I’ve let my own fear stop me from taking advantage of some amazing opportunities.
Sound familiar? Maybe you’ve been there too. It can feel scary to have something come up suddenly that could change everything for you. Our limitations often come out swinging to remind us that we should feel scared and say no.
But what if we didn’t do that for once? What if when we were presented with an amazing opportunity, we got in the habit of saying yes? Imagine how differently your life could look if only you would stop over scrutinizing everything.
There are some ways I like to make sure that the opportunity is a good one for me. First and foremost, I pray. I bring my God into all my decisions because that’s who I trust to steer me in the right direction. Next, I trust my gut. The best part of jumping into something right at the moment you feel like you should, is that you can always change your mind later. If it turns out not to be what you thought it was, or you just plain changed your mind—that is totally okay! What you can’t do is go back in time and jump into an opportunity you said no to.
We’ve been placed here for such a time as this friend. When we get in the habit of saying no to ourselves, we shrink our dreams. How about instead of shrinking our dreams, we start saying yes to opportunities that come along? Instead of letting fear run our ship, why don’t we transform it to faith instead?
If I let fear run my ship, I would have been done a long time ago.
You can’t position yourself at the top of the marketplace without taking some risks you guys. For some more of my tips on making sure you don’t pass up great opportunities, go ahead and watch the video I did right here.
