If you read yesterday’s blog you learned about contributing to HARO, Help a Reporter Out, as a way to become a media source and establish authority in your field. If you missed that you can check it out here. I promised you a second awesome tip and here it is. You can use software to create the content that you share through HARO. Incredible – right?
This is the one-two punch for how we get more publicity and help more people.
When you sign up with HARO as a resource on certain topics you will get daily emails asking you to provide content. You respond to the email with your content and that can get time consuming. In fact, you might think that you don’t have time to write or respond every day. You may have the knowledge but not the time.
How about using software so you can respond to two or three HARO requests in ten minutes? Imagine having multiple media hits in your field simply by strategically spending 10-15 minutes a day using HARO and a simple software. When you add this as one of the activities that you do every day it makes all the difference. People will google your name and all these media publications will start to pop up. I show you how to use the tool you will want in this short video here.
The key is to make sure that you are choosing to respond to requests for information that are in your niche. Make sure when people are seeing you quoted in articles it is for the right reason. Don’t get starry eyed and think quantity is the key. Make sure you are working towards being known for what you want to be known for.
Here is another great tip, make sure that what you write isn’t too long. Have you ever heard of TLDR? It stands for Too Long; Didn’t Read. You’ve been there, right? You click on an article or blog and realize it’s five pages long and suddenly you aren’t interested in reading that article so you simply close your browser. Provide value with your content and focus on your niche. If you’d like to check out the tool I’m using you get 10K words or the first 5 days for free by using this link.
Have the Best Day!
