How can you create your story and then have that story help change your life? I know it sounds like a quote card, but can it work? It’s about mindset. You might think that’s a softer skill. But, successful people anchor in one mindset. It’s a critical step that people try to skip, and in my opinion, it will hold you back every time. Today I’m talking about creating your story – why is that so powerful?
When you create your story, it means you no longer are victim to things happening to you.
You take responsibility for things in your world
I want you to take inventory of what’s happening in your life. Ask if this aligns with where you want to be and where you want to go. Maybe you’re dealing with a challenge and you have to decide how to bob and weave past it. Focus on the story you want to create and what you have to do to make that your reality. That’s taking responsibility. It’s not about things that may have happened to you. It’s not about blaming others. We all see people doing that right? Why? Because, guys, it’s so much easier for us to place blame on somebody else. Instead, we’ve got to take responsibility for what’s happening right now and decide what we’re going to do about it. I often think about what I would do if I had to start everything over again. I wrote about that in this short blog.
We just don’t have great things happen to us all the time. How we react to what’s happening and how we decide who we’re going to become because of what’s happening is what determines who we are moving forward. It’s as simple as that. When we hear create your story and let your story create your life – that can go both ways. We can sit around and say my situation is that person’s fault or we can anchor into our lives and into our reality and create the story we truly want for ourselves and our families. You can hear more about that in the short video at the top of this blog. People that are really successful in this world are the people that are focused on opportunities – focused on solutions – focused on helping people. That’s what we do together in Families Creating Legacies – my free Facebook Group you can join here.
