How can you kick your anxiety to the curb? We live in a world that gains from us being anxious. The world around us would love for us to be off-kilter and unbalanced. Because then it wants to help us get back on track. It wants to sell us things so we can feel better.
So, how do we alleviate that anxiety? I’ll share what has helped me and a lot of people that I know. Whenever I look at anything in my life and think that’s out of control, that’s when my anxiety starts to heighten. That’s not a chemical imbalance. That is in direct relationship to something happening in my world. When something is wrong in my life, I feel like I have to fix it. I have to come up with a plan. I have to execute that plan. I have to make the time to do that. I have to find the right resources. One thing we can do is look for providence in today’s world. I wrote about that in this short blog.
That’s when my anxiety goes boom. How am I going to do all of this? It all rests on me. That is where our human minds go first. If that’s the type of anxiety that you’re experiencing- if that’s the type of chaos that you experience – that is not a chemical imbalance. That is a reaction to your outside world. That’s what I’m talking about today – just to clarify. If you’re experiencing that, I want to pose this thought: “If we’re so concerned about how we’re going to fix things… what if instead, we surrendered to the Lord?” I talk more about that in the short video at the top of this blog.
What if we put our full faith and trust in God the way He’s asked us to?
Anxiety isn’t for us to hang on to. It’s not for us to deal with it. Anxiety is for us to lay down. When we have anxious, chaotic thoughts let’s remember to give them to Him. He’s going to take us through. We don’t need to worry. We don’t have to have that anxiety as something that holds us down or that buries us. The enemy would love nothing more than for us to get buried in that. We won’t let that happen.
Have the Best Day
