I have had the privilege of working with thousands of entrepreneurs over the past several years. From stay-at-home moms to multi-million-dollar corporations, I have literally seen it all.
It comes as no surprise to me that every entrepreneur faces imposter syndrome. What I’ve noticed though is that everyone thinks they’re the only ones to face it. Imposter syndrome is sneaky like that. It makes you believe that you are completely unqualified for what you’re about to do and makes you think you’re the only one who struggles.
The truth is every entrepreneur faces the belief that they’re not enough and the reason for that is simply that most of us had death spoken over us as children. It’s quite likely that when you were a child you had big ideas that got shut down by well meaning people. Those were akin to getting kicked in the gut and what happened was that you started to believe the lies that you couldn’t or shouldn’t follow your dreams. It became harder and harder to believe that you had what it took to rise up and change the world and because of that you stopped trying.
Sound familiar? Now here you are a grown adult, and you aren’t sure if you can do what you know you should to succeed.
The first thing I want you to know is that you’re not alone in this.
If you’ve been battling imposter syndrome, congratulations! It means you’re doing something right.
A couple of ways to overcome it are first, to hang out with people who believe in you—like me. When you spend time with friends who speak life over you and know that you can do hard things, your entire countenance changes. You begin to stand a little taller, shine a little brighter, and speak a little more confidently. The more time you spend with them, the better it gets and before you know it, you aren’t even borrowing their confidence anymore because you’re radiating it yourself.
Another way to overcome imposter syndrome is to do it scared. I remember sitting in my office absolutely terrified of what I was about to do. With shaking hands, I pressed go on my laptop and then immediately closed it and walked away. There’s no shame in that you guys. If that’s what it takes for you to do the thing then do it!
Your success is on the other side of fear. You’ve got this friend. I believe in you and will always be cheering you on.

Have the best day!
